New Portable Atomic Clock UPSC
Atomic clocks have been used for a long time as accurate time standards and their usage has been in diverse fields such as navigation, telecommunications and scientific studies. There is however a major drawback of these tubes; they are large and break easily leaving their use solely in laboratory settings. Scientists have only recently invented an atomic clock that has a portability and could be taken onboard a ship making it an innovation in the field of optical time measurement.
